LOCKE & KEY|NETFLIX SERIES REVIEW- Locke & key is a comic series created by writer Joe Hill and artist Gabriel Rodriguez. It is a thriller- horror series released in 2020. Here Ehab Abbasi is reviewing Season 1 of the popular LOCKE & KEY- Netflix series.
A little background – Locke & key series is based on a graphic novel .The story revolves around a family who moved to their old family home in Seattle after the death of their father called The KEY HOUSE. They discover mysterious keys that could be connected to the death of their father in this house.
Locke family discovers magical keys around the house, each with amazing supernatural powers. They learn that there is dark threat looming that wants those keys as well.
The visuals are amazing, the house itself is a master piece and every thing was so well connected. If we talk about set design, layout to the key designs every thing was so connecting and bringing the pages of the book to life.
The movie showcases key abilities, every single design is exceptional and leads to a different area.
Bode was excited to explore the house and finds a well house with an unused well inside. He took a picture but it falls down the well. When he sees that the picture has been restored, he calls down to the bottom of the well, and to his surprise a woman (Laysla De Oliveira) answers back. He informs his family about the voice however, no one bothers.
KEY-GAME
Additionally, kids find many keys around the house, but the game changer key was the head key.
Head Key, which allows the possessor to root around in someone’s mind, bode (the kid) travel inside their own reveries. Inside Bode’s mind, which takes the shape of an arcade, they traverse a specific memory of his in which their father tells him a tale about a fisherman. Tyler and Kinsey argue about the way it ends, their memories splintering in different directions.
Kinsey decides she wants to travel inside her own head, where she finds a rainbow-colored mall that takes its design cues from M.C. Escher’s work. Inside an overly organized candy store of sorts she witnesses her memory of her father telling her the story of the fisherman.
What’s more engaging than the visual fantasy of the Head Key, though, is the way her memory takes shape.
