BENEFITS OF SLEEPING EARLY- SLEEP CYCLE | Sleep is the process of regaining your strength, and it is very much important for our brain to rest in order to be active and perform well. For a healthy and stress free mind one should sleep about approximately 8 to 10 hours a day.
A lack of sleep can lead to variety of health problems .There is saying – Early to bed, early to rise makes a men healthy and wise. So, if you are an early bird, it means you have a healthy mind and a quality sleep which makes your body more active and healthy.
WHAT CAUSES INSOMNIA?
Sometimes Insomnia, makes it hard for you to function properly like focusing on your tasks, memory issues, lethargic etc. There are many causes of insomnia and it can really effect on your mental as well as physical health . But, good sleep habit can prevent you from it and helps you having a sound sleep. For a good and healthy sleep try to avoid having caffeine and Large meals before bed time and meditate that will help you improving a restless sleep.
Insufficient sleep or sleep deprivation is the main cause of mood swings and health problems, such as Heart disease, Obesity, Hypertension, Physiological problems, Depression, and many more..
STAGES OF SLEEP CYCLE:
WHAT we really need to understand is our sleep timings and its cycle. How early we sleep? how much we sleep? How many times we awake during sleep. Sleep cycle is divided in to 2 stages:
- Non-Rapid Movement Sleep
- Rapid Eye Movement Sleep
NON-RAPID EYE MOVEMENT SLEEP:
NREM Or Non-Rapid Eye Movement Sleep is divided in to 3 stages:
STAGE 1: This stage is the lightest stage of sleep OR WIDE AWAKE which occurs right after we fall asleep and lasts for very short time typically, about 5-10 minutes. In this stage body is not fully relaxed and there is slight eye movements during sleep.
STAGE 2: This is the stage before you enter in to deep sleep,and it is for about 30-60 minutes. In this stage our body muscles becomes more relaxed and we may begin to have slow brain activity . A person spends half of their sleep time in stage 2 sleep.,
STAGE 3: This is the deepest stage of sleep also known as Delta sleep or slow wave, in which a person sleeps approximately 20- 40 minutes. In N3 stage it is very difficult for a person to awake.
RAPID EYE MOVEMENT SLEEP:
RAPID EYE MOVEMENT SLEEP may occurs for about 90 minutes after falling asleep. Most of our dreaming occur during REM sleep. In this stage, our body becomes paralyze and prevent us from acting out of our dreams.
