WHAT IS FEMINISM? | THE CIRCUIT LIVE

WHAT IS FEMINISM? According to history this movement started in 19th Century. Every person is born different but is equal regardless of gender, sexuality or race. Unfortunately there are many situations along the course of where people are not treated equally, socially and politically.

Feminism has a different meaning for every single person . It is the social, cultural and political movement that demands equal rights and legal protection for women. Being a feminist is not about hating men or women being better or superior than men- it simply is about demanding equal rights for both genders. Any one can be feminist who believes in equality of both genders. It is about standing up for meaningful stance of injustice and inequalities.

Since, ages the society has been writing its own rules for morals and ethics that are also being followed as a popular practice by the majority. So whenever there is something which is outside these set of rules, the society takes it as their right to be judgmental.

Fighting for your rights and protecting yourself from abuse, mistreatment, domestic violence, sexual harassments, social injustice and working towards changing any unhealthy scenario is Feminism.

Why recent feminist movements are not successful?

The third wave of FEMINISM has multiple agendas and definitions. For some females, the real feminist woman has a job, she is a full-time worker and has a family to take care of. Another group of women leave workforce and become a full-time mother. For some it is all about following their dreams, ride a motor bike or be a lesbian (homosexual).

But what feminism really is? Working towards achieving the desired social status and rights or fighting for gender equality globally.
