The basic pancake is made from a simple ingredients like eggs, flour, milk ,sugar, salt and baking powder. It is totally your choice to add Oats flour instead of all-purpose flour to make a healthy version of pancake. Sugar can be replaced with stevia or honey or coconut sugar. You can go for almond milk, coconut milk or skimmed milk for less calorie intake.

Fruits can be of your choice, but the best combo of fruits are Strawberry, Blueberry, Bananas and Peaches. It is totally your choice to add your favorite fruit in your batter as well, or just use to garnish the pancakes.

CLASSIC PANCAKE BATTER

The Pancake batter has to be slightly thick or of pouring consistency, not runny. The best part about pancake batter is you can change the proportion of dry to wet ingredients to get the right thickness of batter. After getting the right thickening consistency of the batter, let it rest for 5-10 minutes for light and fluffy pancakes.

PANCAKE RECIPE

This, easy peassy breakfast recipe of Classic American Pancakes requires less ingredients and tastes heavenly divine!

Cook Time: 20 minutes

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 Egg
  • 1 cup All-Purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup Milk
  • 2 tbsp. Castor sugar
  • 1 tsp. Baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. Baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. Salt
  • Oil/Butter for greasing

FOR TOPPING:

  • Maple Syrup
  • Powdered Sugar/ Caster Sugar
  • Chopped fruits (Banana, strawberry, Peach)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Crack one egg in a large bowl and beat it with the help of whisker or fork.
  2. Pour Milk , Flour , Baking powder, Baking soda, salt and sugar and mix the batter till it gets thick and no lumps left.
  3. Let the batter rest for about 5 minutes to get a fluffy pancake.
  4. Now, grease and heat the pan very hot and with the help of measuring cup pour the batter on the hot pan . Make sure that you use 1/4 cup batter for each pancake.
  5. Once you see bubbles popping up on the pancake, flip the side and cook it for 40 seconds or 1 minute depending on how much golden pancake you want.
  6. Once all thee pancakes are cooked serve it with dusted powdered sugar, maple syrup and any chopped seasonal fruit.
  7. This recipe makes about 4 pancakes.
